Miranda’s Such A CocoNUT!

In todays Herald Sun article, it seems that MK has been QUOTED as saying:

“I never did an interview with Australian Cosmopolitan magazine and unfortunately they have misquoted and misrepresented comments posted on my blog,” Kerr said yesterday.

“When it comes to coconut oil, I personally find it beneficial and use approximately four teaspoons of coconut oil a day (in my salads and meals), not tablespoons.

“Everyone is different, but that is what works for me and I prefer it as a substitute to other oils more readily used in day-to-day food preparation and cooking. I suggest people consult with their health practitioner for what is right for them.”

I see. So can anyone tell me why Miranda herself said this on her KORA blog:

“I personally take around 4 tablespoons of coconut oil per day either on salads, in my cooking or in my cups of green tea!!” (screen cap and links at the bottom of the page).

So, dear Miranda, whether you did an interview with Aus Cosmo or not is irrelevant as you were not misquoted. Either you are backtracking now you know that much coconut oil is bad for you or it is not you writing as you on your blog. Either way, there’s a lie there somewhere as tablespoon is very hard to get mixed up teaspoon when typing IMO.

KORA Blog screen cap for prosperity:

ETA: I’ve just been informed that MK or one of the KORA Team have infact edited the KORA blog post about the dosage of coconut oil, so the tablespoons have been changed to teaspoons. Again MK, you should thank your “haters” for giving you the heads up all the time because instead of holding your hands up and admitting you made a mistake like any other normal human being, you back track, change and delete any proof you make mistakes like the rest of us. So down to earth!

ETA 2: Thanks to SadieJo for the heads up on this but it looks like the blog mindbodygreen.com also took the 4 tablespoons quote directly from her KORA blog too. Here is a screen cap of that very blog incase MK tries to get it removed/changed. So, how on earth are going change a site that isn’t yours MK?

  1. What? Another ‘misunderstanding’??
She’s really unlucky, isn’t she? Each time she gives healthy suggestions they misquote or misunderstand her!!
Seriously, I wish I could call myself surprised but I’m not. Didn’t something like this happen with noni juice too? She sort of praised it for being able of healing almost everything and when doctors (for those who don’t know it, doctors actually study half their life to take care of people and heal them, these are role models and inspirations) proved to be mistrustful about its use, she pretty much stood back and change version.
Thanks for underlining the pre and post version of hers!!;)

  2. I am surprised that she hasn’t changed it on Kora yet. She lies so often she needs to keep notes of the things she has said

  3. Assuming she was the one who actually wrote the comment on the blog, it’s always possible she typed the wrong information. But why she can’t up and admit that is beyond me. A quick, “Oops! I typed the wrong amount. Sorry, everyone!” would have solved the problem. And then she would have gotten an extra mention on all those stupid sites that carry articles about her.

Of course, four teaspoons is a weird amount. That’s like…1 tbsp + 1 tsp? Either she’s doing strange math to calculate a certain calorie intake, or she really is backtracking after finding out how many calories are in 4 tbsp of coconut oil.

I find it hysterical that she’s creating distance from Aus Cosmopolitan. Wasn’t she on the cover at one point? It’s like she’s trying to pretend she’s too good for the mag now.

    • I did wonder if she had made a mistake but as she claims to be “in the know” AND is giving health advice to all her minions… I mean fans, you HAVE to get it right. If this isnt MK typing as her on her blog then whoever it is should be careful as they are getting sweet, innocent, honest Miranda into trouble but then again, its her own fault for allowing people to pose as her on the internet, deceiving her fans into thinking that is her!

      • Indeed. I mean, if it was a simple and innocent mistake why not simply admit it? Would it have been so reprehensible? Surely lies are worse.
Everyone makes mistake, so what’s the big deal in admitting it?
Since that entry is on her Blog it should be hers, as she’s supposed to make personal entries each week.

      • I’m increasingly inclined toward the idea that she’s backing off her earlier claim after hearing real nutritional experts comment publicly about how unhealthy 4 tbsp of coconut oil (or any oil, for that matter) would be for someone with a fairly sedentary life.

Looking at recent pictures of her, though, she’s definitely doing something wrong. At one time, she was borderline pretty, if a little unexceptional. But she’s been looking really busted lately.

      • But you have to know she NEVER does a mistake, not even the slightest one!
It’s all those evil magazines and media websites, real nutritionists, doctors and other educated specialists who are going after her and doing her all wrong! *sniff*

        /sarcasm

  4. Perhaps I’m just confused, but why would one even WANT to be coconut OIL in tea?

  5. So, did she take 4 tablespoons of coconut oil IN her green tea or did she take it like medicine and THEN drank her green tea. Either way sound really gross to me. And that much oil in cooking or salad is way too much unless you’re cooking for a family of 8-10. I would know, living where I do, we cooked with coconut oil, among others, when I was a kid and I have a huge family. How that woman’s arteries are not clogging up and screaming in pain from that much coconut oil each day amazes me…

I think with this woman, everything she writes has to be screen capped cos it seems like what she writes and what she claims tend to be different.

    • My impression is that she’s saying she takes a little coconut oil in her green tea. And she incorporates the other — how many tbsp? — into other parts of her diet.

Either way, disgusting. Then again, I think she’s full of bullshit. Her appearance does nothing to recommend a healthy lifestyle. I suspect she says one thing and does another.

  6. She already change it. And I think she also change when she started drinking noni juice, now is 12 yo, wasn’t 14 yo?
I think it has added the “plus” to Floradix, I remember someone asked her if s/he also good Floradix plus b/c is can/t find it without “plus”. And now is Floradex…

  7. What? Did she really edit her former post on her Blog? Ahahahahah!!! So predictable!!!
Proves once again you hit another nerve!;)

  8. Here’s another source for the same information you came up with. Back in March, 2011, the blog Mind, Body and Green also referenced the exact same quotes from the Kora Blog that you screencapped. It also highlights the original posted amounts of 4 tablespoons. She’s not going to be able to squirm out of this one. Nope.

    ILC

    • Thanks so much for that, I screen capped the site incase she tries to have that changed too lol Thanks again!

    • I have just looked at Mirandas appreciated blood group diet.

E.g. there are fruit sorts there, which I shall eat as a blood group 0 but personally allergically react to it – and what I then shall eat if I mustn’t eat other fruit sorts?

And this diet is, said in simplified terms, based on it: one reacts severely the wrong Food. But what, if one reacts the ‘right’ ones severely?

  9. The very thought of coconut oil in tea makes me gag. I hope May and the rest of the freaks have been choking that crap down. I’m sure the believe it is the magical potion that will finally turn them into Miranda and make Orlando love them.

  10. “KORA Blog screen cap for prosperity”… Posterity perhaps?

    • Yes, it’s almost as bad as using the word embezzled for embellished isn’t it lol Are you the kind of person that picks at people with dyslexia (like Orlando Bloom)? I’m guessing so. Nice you pick on one word rather than the contents of the post.

    • And as bad as ‘teaspoons’ vs ‘tablespoons’…*rollseyes*

    • As usual the THICK Miranda fans try and take the point away from what it is about, that means they must agree wit these posts because that is all they can seem to do rather than deny the topics of the posts- and THAT says a lot about fans of Miranda- that they are as pathetic and uncaring as she is.
